Whether I am catching up on some homework or journaling, one of my favorite spots to relax and grab a cup of coffee is Abbot Kinney, located in Venice Beach. This artsy enclave has so many hidden gems and nooks and crannies, that anyone is guaranteed to fall in love with the street. From some of the best vegan cafes to tchotchke stores and and murals on the walls, Abbot Kinney is one of LA’s most unique areas.
Let’s Start with Food
The Butcher’s Daughter recently opened and it is absolutely mouth watering. Everything from the best avo toast in town to amazing wellness lattes, this mostly vegan (they serve eggs) cafe is amazing. From the decor to the food, this spot is definitely one of my favorite zones to catch up with friends and family
Just look at that glittery-gold table!
Fala Bar is an all-vegan, non-GMO, 100% organic comfort food greek cafe. If you are vegan and want a filling and scrumptious burger, Fala Bar is a must! Everything, down to their kale is perfectly seasoned! The flavors are endless and the portions are pretty unreal.
Blue Star Donuts is another must. They do have some vegan options and they are beyond enticing. Sometimes these babies are too pretty, I don’t even want to eat them. But after one bite, you are hooked. So if you have the $4 to spend on a donut, Blue Star is a classic LA favorite.
Erewhon just recently opened on the corner of Abbot & Venice blvd. This market doubles as cafe. The gluten-free/vegan mac and cheese is tantalizing. There juice selection far surpasses Moon Juice and Pressed. And do not even get me started on their turmeric lattes!
Art & Murals
Get your cameras out because the murals painted down the boulevard are for-sure Instagram worthy. From the classic Love Wall, to the Buddha Wall, the strip is painted with beautiful and colorful art.
Small nooks & crannies as well as alleyways surround the avenue.
Love & light,
Emily
